sysmat GmbH is a provider of matCONTROL, the modular and configurable material flow software, as well as matWMS, the modular and configurable Warehouse Management System. The software is not limited to use on systems from a specific manufacturer, but can be used in all automatic warehouse zones and production lines. The material flow control and warehouse management systems from sysmat help optimize material flow. The centralized control of the various system components makes material flow more efficient and transparent. Configuring the matCONTROL material flow software is easy with drag and drop and also provides system architects with the means of integrating the software in existing systems on their own and thereby efficiently controlling material flow between the individual parts of the system. Both the matCONTROL material flow software as well as the matWMS Warehouse Management System have numerous standard modules that form the basis of the system. Individual customer requirements can largely be satisfied by configuring both standard modules via drag and drop by means of the graphical user interface. This results in especially short start-up times.

These are important advantages for successful warehouse refurbishment of high-bay racking stores or the automating of materials handling systems. Both sysmat software products can be used in all types of automatic warehouses: pallet warehouses, container warehouses, high-bay racking stores (HBRS), automatic small parts warehouses (ASPW), carrousel storage and retrieval systems, and paternoster, etc. All order picking systems, such as pick-by-voice, pick-by-light, and RFID as well as all types of conveyors can easily be connected to matCONTROL and matWMS. The matCONTROL material flow system, for example, is already being used successfully with systems and components of the following manufacturers: Witron, SIEMAG, DEMAG, Stöcklin, DAIFUKU, Gebhardt, SwissLog, Horstmann, Lalesse, Gilgen, Beewen, KBS, sys4you.

Over and above material flow and warehouse management systems, sysmat also offers matSIMU, the online system simulation software, and matIFCON, the data-interface transformer. sysmat GmbH also provides various services in addition to the software products matCONTROL, matWMS, matSIMU, and matIFCON. sysmat has concentrated on the areas of automating and modernizing warehouses and production. Services include consulting prior to the integration of a new warehouse or the refurbishment of automatic warehouses, employee training, service, and support. We offer a variety of topics in the area of training: Creating simulations with matSIMU, the matIFCON data-interface transformer, Material flow with matCONTROL for service technicians, Material flow with matCONTROL for administrators, Configuring the matWMS Warehouse Management System.

Additional interesting services provided by sysmat GmbH include procurement of S5 spare parts and the creation of an Internet portal for logistics: LOGnews.de, an information platform for logistics professionals. sysmat is especially competent in the area of warehouse refurbishment and has already successfully completed numerous projects at home and abroad. The reasons companies decide to modernize a warehouse vary: (1) Cycle times must be sped up in order to remain competitive. (2) A warehouse management system with client-independent storage capability is to be introduced. (3) A production planning system (PPS) is to be integrated into the warehouse management system. (4) A direct link is needed from the conveyor system to the inventory control system. (5) The manufacturer, e.g., Siemens S5 or the Bosch SPS, no longer produce the spare parts for the components used; spare parts are no longer delivered and they are not even repaired. (6) Manufacturer support or updates for the software in use or the operating system are no longer or only in part guaranteed. (7) Costs for maintaining and repairing the existing system have been increasing disproportionately for some time while availability is falling.

When updating the material flow system, please consider the following: (1) material flow control software should be updated to the most current version every five years at the latest. As a rule, your company will still have access to experienced personnel from the last software migration. (2) The material flow software should be modular in design. This is the only way the warehouse will be able to adapt flexibly to the changing composition of orders. Thus, material flow control software is ideal whose strategies can be configured by the company’s own technicians. (3) Material flow software should, as a rule, be easy to upgrade and open for system components from other manufacturers. (4) The material flow software should completely document all communication between the various system components. This saves time and money during future modernizations. (5) For the same reason, it is important that the material flow solution require as little customer-specific configuring as possible during the initial installation. This means that the standard system package should at the very least meet the company’s basic requirements. The additional programming of masks and functions from existing systems is generally not necessary in good material flow solutions. (6) For data security purposes, see to it that all data is mirrored on a second system as an active event-oriented – not cyclical – process.
